The Infrastructure Gap

Recover

"Unlocking value from resources others throw away."

The Problem: Large quantities of recyclable material are lost through inefficient sorting, export dependence, and disposal routes. The UK needs significant new sorting and recycling facilities to recover value from waste.

What Katharos Provides: We create facilities that recover valuable materials from waste, transforming discarded resources into feedstocks that can be reused by industry.

Recycle

"Building the infrastructure that enables a circular economy."

The Problem: The UK collects increasing amounts of recyclable plastic but lacks domestic infrastructure to process it. Capacity fell by 22% in two years. Approximately 130 new facilities are required.

What Katharos Provides: We develop the infrastructure needed to sort, recover, and recycle plastics at scale, bridging the UK's capacity gap and reducing reliance on exports.

Decarbonise

"Reducing carbon through smarter resource recovery."

The Problem: Sending plastics to Energy from Waste facilities generates substantial carbon emissions. Increased recycling could avoid up to 143 MtCO₂e by 2060.

What Katharos Provides: By diverting recyclable materials into recovery infrastructure, we help reduce emissions, support net-zero objectives, and enable sustainable resource management.
